About Me

Hello, I’m Magda Santos, the host of Speak Freely Radio, The Saturday Healing Show, and I write  A Moment in the Woods Blog.

I’ve worked in the corporate, public and private sectors always finding ways to use my love of media to solve problems. I’m also trained as an educator and have a twenty three year meditation practice.

Using a blog and radio program to help make anyone’s life a little better by offering a moment of meditation and a sassy segment about social trends makes me get up in the morning.

The idea behind this blog is to help you find the benefits of meditation and help you get through the roadblocks painlessly:

• not having enough time
• not knowing how to start
• not understanding the concept
• not being able to sit still

Join us by clicking on the Blog Talk Radio Button on the right hand side and find a gentle simple way to start your daily meditation. We will give you ways to:

• create meditative flex time
• give you simple support structures like guided meditations
• describe the concepts behind each mediation
• give you a variety of meditations to choose from
• free you from the idea that a meditation must be still

We have three segments:

  • A Moment in the Woods
  • For Kids
  • The Saturday Healing Show

And we have also added a new page about keeping healthy with herbal infusions.

The first segment is A Moment in the Woods and it’s a short meditation on nature. It’s structured to give you a moment with nature and a moment to release any heaviness you might have accumulated. It may also serve as a way to prepare you for the day by letting go of yesterday and focusing on today.

“A Moment in the Woods” is meant as a gift of peace and relaxation for you. It also makes a great all occasion gift for your friends and family. Fell free to send them “A Moment in the Woods.”

There’s a gentle beauty that I experience looking at trees and peeking into flowers. The world changes into a place of wonder and all despair leaves me. Finding these moments and sharing them with you is a new vocation that has given me great joy and challenged me to find time to go out into nature and create “vignettes of meditation.” Magda

The “For Kids” segment is full of fun and ideas to engage children in outdoor activities and help them keep or find a genuine love of nature. There are audio stories, a pledged to stay connected to the earth and interviews with children’s authors.

Then there’s The Saturday Healing Show, on you guessed it, Saturdays. This segment airs at 9:30 am and it explores healing trends and the politics we impose on the natural world.

On this site I give you the highlights of the show and talk about things in a bit more depth. I make connections for the reader and listener between ideas and concepts presented on the different segments and shows.

I get lots of help from several devoted friends and family members that keep me blogging and on the radio. Perhaps, that keeps me out of their hair, I don’t know but thanks to all of them. This is the “we” I refer to so often. For the rest of you that read and listen on a regular basis a huge thanks.
