Herbal Infusion Kits

Herbal Infusions
Herbal Infusions came to my attention when I was looking for better nutrition and weight control. I didn’t want to deal with unhealthy or perhaps damaging diets. I also didn’t want to find myself at my ideal weight then when I stopped “dieting”, to gain it all back. I have been there more than once.

So when I came across Susun Weed, a master herbalist that has taken care of her family and community for over 40 years with her herbal teachings, I jumped at the chance to learn about her herbal infusions. I knew of Susun Weed from her work in New York during the 80’s. Her apprentices practiced in the city and her books sat on my shelf.

When I looked her up again she had just what I was looking for, herbal infusions. Her infusions are helping me to regain my energy and control my weight.

Infusions? What are herbal infusions?
Luscious herbal concentrates made from a large quantity of herb, and when I say large I mean 1 ounce of herb to 1 quart of water. The recipe is simple but the results are important to your health. You might notice more energy or sustaining power. I recommend that you start with the oatstraw; it’s the yummiest.

Who should drink herbal infusion?
Herbal infusions are nutritional, which means that if you don’t feel up to par, it’s a good time to think of taking one. Some herbs are great during menopause when our bodies go through a lot of changes. Other herbs are great if you’re recovering from an illness or are headed for one. These are all good reasons for you to take herbal infusions, but there’s more.I found that when I take my infusions, I am not as hungry. Then I remember what Tom Brown Jr. had said about overeating. Tom is another teacher that works with herbs. He told us to keep from eating too much; we must find our cravings and satisfy them.

That way we would satisfy our bodies’ need for certain vitamins, minerals or nutrients, which according to Tom is what a craving is all about. So my conclusion after listening to these two teachers and their advice about staying healthy is that more nutrients without calories will satisfy my body’s cravings and allow me to better control my food intake.

When should we take herbal infusions?
When you find yourself needing to control your food portions yet increase your nutrients. Herbal infusions are a natural healthy way to achieve both. Why use dry herbs for infusions? Using dried organic herbs in this way allows all the nutrients, meaning minerals, vitamins, proteins, and other goodies to release into the water in a big way!
