The Tampa Saturday Healing Group

On Saturday June 4th the first meeting of The Tampa Saturday Healing Group begins. We are meeting at Mystikal Scents and you’re invited.

As some of you know, I have been studying philosophy at the Tracker School for many years. Well, my trip to Costa Rica and Nicaragua was a turning point in my development as a healer and I’d like to share some of this with you.

In the past I worked quietly without being noticed because that is the life of a scout. Please know that  I do not consider myself an able scout but I do respect the principles that a scout lives by.

I have permission to begin a healing practice and I have decided to share this information I have with you in the form of a healing circle. The healing circle’s goal is to help us all move forward as a community into a new time of earth changes.

Community has been a theme for me throughout my training at the Tracker School. In my first vision quest I found myself at the edge of my circle asking what I was doing in the forest alone in a circle without food for 4 days attempting to listen to God. Why not be home, warm on the couch, watching television. The answer came loud and clear. “You are not here for yourself. You are here for the people.” My interpretation of that communication is that I was praying not just for myself but for you too.

I turned and walked back to my seat at the base of a tree and continued my quest.

My vision is that of a healer and to begin to fulfill this vision I write to tell you that you are invited to my Tampa Saturday Healing Group on the first Saturday of each month. If you feel  called to come to the circle please register using my meet up site.

We are coming together to learn healing techniques and to help our family and friends stay healthy and well.

If you wish more information please visit our meetup group.

And as always, I wish you peace; I wish you nature.

My Sit Spot is Gone

On this blog and on my radio show I talked about my sit spot. It’s a special place in nature that I go to meditate and sometimes observe nature. Well I have two but my favorite was on my way to work. It was an oasis in an urban environment where I found my balance each day.

Well, it’s gone.  The area is now full of construction equipment and the trees were ripped from their foundation. Then they were piled one on top of each other like corpses with roots exposed to the sun. They looked like bodies about to be dumped in a mass grave, but there was no grave. The trees were mulched and made to disappear.

The hawk, turtle, opossum and countless other animals that lived there are now homeless.

I no longer have a sacred area to pray.

I feel the loss much more than I thought I would. I had befriended many of the trees. I cringe at the naked ground unprotected like the strip mines in Appalachia.  My heart aches at the loss of life.

We have been promised a manicured pond and a few trees, but the wilderness will never be there again.

My friends and I are beginning to healing the area and ourselves one day at a time.

Children of the Earth

July 27th, 2010 Posted in For kids | Tags: , , , , , , ,

Experiencing a weekend program with the instructors from Children of the Earth (cotef) is relaxing and magical. The stage is the landscape and you are the actors. The instructors are highly trained and keep everything safe and fun. They travel to you or you can come to them.

I took my niece and sister on a weekend and I still call on the memories to motivate me. My youngest niece didn’t make the trip. She was too young so she’s waiting her turn.

I’d like to do it again so if you’re in Florida and interested in bringing the COTEF staff to our lovely state let me know and I will begin a list. If get to 20 I know we can get them to come.

Visit their website watch the video and read the stories.
